The date input allows users to enter a full date in the correct format.

Example
When to use
The date input can be used where:
- You are asking a user to input a full date in the standard format
- When the exact date is likely to be known by users
- When a user is not in need of any weekday prompts (i.e. Mon, Tue, Wed etc.)
When not to use
The date input should be avoided where:
- The date provided is likely to be within the next 4 weeks. In this scenario, a calendar component would be more appropriate as it has the added benefit of conveying day of the week.

- On tab, users focus should jump between the three internal fields before jumping into the next element on the page
